Description
Lambda DNA is commonly used as a substrate in restriction enzyme activity assays and for preparation of DNA molecular weight standards. The phage is isolated from a heat-inducible lysogenic E.coli W3110 (cI857 Sam7) strain. The DNA is isolated from purified phage by standard purification procedure.
The molecule is linear double-stranded DNA, 48502 base pairs in length.
