The Protein Standard Solution is a Bovine Serum Albumin solution used as a standard for colorimetric determination of total protein concentration by Lowry (1), Bradford or other methods of protein quantification.

Application
Standard for protein quantification.

Molecular Weight
Approximately 66 kDa.

Composition
200 µg/ml BSA in 0.15 M NaCl, containing 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative.

Quality Control
Total protein is determined by the Lowry method (1).
