O'RangeRuler™ DNA Ladders
Step ladders with 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 bp increments. Not suitable for quantification

Features

• Orange G dye allows for the monitoring of DNA migration on agarose and polyacrylamide gels; it migrates with the smallest DNA fragments without masking them under UV light.

Description
O’RangeRuler™ DNA Ladders are designed for precise sizing of PCR products and other double-stranded DNA fragments in agarose or non-denaturing polyacrylamide gels. They are especially useful for determining 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 bp differences between DNA fragments. The ladders consist of purified and ligated blunt ended basic unit repeats of 10, 15, 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 bp. They are molecular weight standards of choice for sizing small DNA fragments. Since ladders are ligation mixtures of a single DNA fragment, they are not recommended for DNA quantification. O’RangeRuler™ DNA Ladders are supplied with 6X Orange DNA Loading Dye for sample DNA.

Storage and Loading Buffer
10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.6), 10 mM EDTA, 0.025% orange G, 0.005% xylene cyanol FF, 10% glycerol.

6X Orange DNA Loading Dye
10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.6), 0.15% orange G, 0.03% xylene cyanol FF, 60% glycerol and 60 mM EDTA.

Recommendations for Loading

• Use the 6X Orange DNA Loading Dye (supplied with the ladder) for your sample DNA:
  mix 1 volume of the dye with 5 volumes of the DNA solution.
• Do not heat before loading.

Quality Control
Tested in appropriate gel electrophoresis. The DNA concentration is determined spectrophotometrically. The absence of nucleases is confirmed by appropriate tests.

Storage
Store at room temperature or at 4°C for 6 months. For longer periods, store at -20°C.
