Description
MassRuler™ DNA Ladders are specially designed for an accurate quantification and sizing of DNA fragments by agarose gel electrophoresis. The integral intensity of each ladder’s fragment is calibrated against a standard that guarantees the precise quantity of each band. The ladders are mixtures of chromatography-purified, individual DNA fragments.
MassRuler™ Express DNA Ladders, Forward and Reverse, are specifically designed for the most accurate quantification of a wide range of DNA fragments. In the forward versions, the mass of each DNA fragment is directly proportional to the fragment size, whereas in the reverse versions, the mass is inversely proportional to fragment’s size.
MassRuler™ Express DNA Ladders (Forward and Reverse) allow fast and reliable DNA quantification in short separation distance over a broad range of voltages, gel percentages and in any electrophoresis buffer (see Tables 1-3 above).
MassRuler™ DNA Ladders are supplied with 6X MassRuler™ DNA Loading Dye for sample DNA.Storage and Loading Buffer
10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.6), 10 mM EDTA, 0.005% bromophenol blue, 10% glycerol.6X MassRuler™ DNA Loading Dye
10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.6), 0.03% bromophenol blue, 60% glycerol and 60 mM EDTA.
- Dilute your DNA sample with the 6X MassRuler™ DNA Loading Dye (supplied with the ladder):
mix 1 volume of the dye with 5 volumes of the DNA solution.- Load equal volumes of your DNA sample and MassRuler™ DNA ladder per each lane.
- Do not heat before loading.
Quality Control
Tested in appropriate gel electrophoresis. The DNA concentration determined spectrophotometrically. The absence of nucleases is confirmed by appropriate tests.Storage
Store at room temperature or at +4°C for 6 months. For longer periods, store at -20°C.
